AT&T Sends Children in Foster Care to Renowned STEM Summer Camp Program

Interviews and b-roll footage.
Info about event:
Pensacola -- Through a partnership with AT&T, Florida's Foundation and the Department of Children and Families, youth in grades 7-12 currently in foster care spent five days this week attending the National Flight Academy's Ambition Aviation in Residence (AIR) program at Naval Air Station Pensacola.

This year's camp is especially important because this is the first summer foster youth can attend camp without state intervention.

The foster youth joined their Ambition squadron mates on Sunday for the week-long Ambition AIR adventure, which immerses students in an educational and exciting aviation-based environment that inspires students to excel in STEM discipline. The unique learning program culminates in a graduation ceremony on Friday.

For the second consecutive year, AT&T contributed $25,000 through Florida's Foundation for foster youth to experience the Ambition AIR program. AT&T's corporate sponsorship helps the foster youth gain a new perspective on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) so they can excel in traditional studies and begin preparing for work later in life.

Media are invited to attend a special event immediately following graduation with Representative Clay Ingram, AT&T Florida President Marshall Criser III, DCF Northwest Regional Director Vicki Abrams and National Flight Academy Program Director Chip Yarborough for a special recognition of Florida's foster youth who completed the Academy. Media should confirm their attendance in order to secure gate clearance at NAS Pensacola. Details of the event are as follows:
