South Korean "Korea Aerospace Industries" supersonic advanced trainers and light combat aircraft KAI T-50 Eagle has been further developed and technologically been prepared to contest in the U.S.A.F T-X Competition. This advanced fighter trainer was developed with technical support from Lockheed Martin for ROKAF.
KAI of South Korea made a joint-venture with Lockheed Martin to compete for the contract. United States Air Force established the T-X program to replace the Northrop T-38 Talon trainer aircrafts.
T-X aircrafts will be fast-jet trainers. The program will begin in 2017 fiscal year. The fiscal climate of the United States has pushed US Air Force to delay the program.
Most of the advanced jet trainer manufacturers worldwide expected to participate in the program. Participating aircrafts are:
#1 Lockheed Martin-KAI T-50A Golden Eagle
#2 Raytheon T-100-Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master
#3 Northrop Grumman-BAE Systems Hawk
#4 Textron AirLand Scorpion light attack jet
# 5 Boeing-Saab T-X trainer
