Opponents of last year's nuclear pact with Iran have launched a lobbying campaign against the proposed plane deals between the US and Iran. They have expressed concerns that Iran may use the aircraft for military purposes such as transporting fighters to battle US troops in Syria. Because of the pressure, the US Treasury Department is unlikely to approve the sales until after the US presidential election in November, saying that election season is not a time to push such a deal.
