Simple Balloon Powered Plane – Third Attempt ‘Success-ish’

Another design and a little more success. We are not going to win any duration prizes here but if you can wait for the better flights later in this video you will see a definite progression from previous attempts. I have included all the flights here, good and bad, so you get a clear view of the success or failure of this project.

Last year henshooten asked "could you try making a balloon powered aeroplane or helicopter" and tonight Roy Chwayri asked "Please can you make a plane powered with balloon?". I am sure there have been other requests too. This is just a simple effort using a styrofoam plate plane. I think it could be improved with a lightweight tube to hold the balloon.

If you have a question it is probably worth reading this video description first because the answer may already be here. To help you find my videos I made two search guides or or checkout my playlists page

Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.
