‘Star Wars’ Cast And Crew Arrive In Cork On Boeing 767-300

The cast and crew of the latest Star Wars movie arrived in Cork Airport, Ireland on 16th May 2016 at 2:35pm to begin the next stage of filming for the latest Star Wars movie.
The flight was operated by charter airline Titan Airways using their Boeing 767-300ER aircraft(Registration : G-POWD). It originated at Belfast International Airport and took approximately 45 mins to travel to Cork. For such a short flight the aircraft didn't even go to full cruising altitude and reached a maximum of only 20,000ft as it cruised down the centre of Ireland.
From an aviation point of view this was a very significant visitor to Cork Airport as it was the first widebody aircraft to visit in almost 5 years, the previous one also being a 767 (operated by El Al) in September 2011.
After about an hour on the ground it departed empty back to its home base at London Stansted Airport.
