Aircraft Carrier In Action Operating In The South China Sea.

Nuclear-powered Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis in action while operating in the South China Sea.

Part of the operation are regular patrols and Maritime Counter SOF (MCSOF) exercises.

This military video shows scenes from the American aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) and its flight deck from were various planes including F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets taking off and landing while on a regularly scheduled 7th Fleet deployment.

The USS John C. Stennis is currently number seven of ten nuclear powered Nimitz-Class supercarriers operated by the United States Navy.

The mission of John C. Stennis and her air wing (CVW-9) is to conduct sustained air operations while forward-deployed.

The embarked air wing consists of eight to nine navy and marine aviation squadrons.

The attached aircraft to the aircraft carrier are the navy and marine F/A-18 Hornet, EA-6B Prowler, MH-60R, MH-60S, and E-2C Hawkeye.
